Denys Fisher
Born in 1918 in Leeds, Denys Fisher was an English engineer. In 1961 his company Dennis Fisher Engineering won a contract with NATO to supply precision springs and canon components, a job no other British firm at the time felt confident to take. The contract gave him the security to pursue a project closer to his heart, and between 1962–64 Denys produced prototype drawing machines for what would become the Spirograph. In 1969 Denys designed Sticklebricks, a construction toy for toddlers.
