        <![CDATA[<p>Lillian Ramsay, devoted her life to the less privileged, in particular to the care of the young. In the 1990s, a chance viewing of a television documentary called Fields of Darkness led her to establish a national team of social workers to care for children born without eyes. Drawing on her many friends in the profession, she was able to set up The Eyeless Trust, managing the entire organisation with her redoubtable capacity for energy and her commitment to young people. </p>
